Funding
The symposium is funded mainly through the Advanced Study Initiatives within the Cognition Program of the Dutch Society for Scientific Research (NWO 051-04-123).
One of the major goals of the Cognition Program is to translate research on cognition to the daily life of the Dutch tax-payer. For this purpose, a deeper understanding of individual differences in normal and abnormal cognition, and ways to signal abnormality early, should be a major research target. Genetics and neuroimaging can provide exactly such understanding. This Integrating Imaging and Genetics in Cognitive Research initiative provides the unique opportunity to benefit from the combined knowledge of some of the worlds’ leading experts in these fields, who are very rarely brought together.
Other sponsors include: The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and the EPOS research school.
